WIS WEDNESDAY SPORTS AFTERNOONS
Today we launched our first Wednesday Sports Afternoon and as you can see the whole school got right into it, practising skills for a variety of sporting codes. Every Wednesday afternoon from 1:45-2:30pm students at our school have elected to take part in a sport or activity of their choice. During these sessions they will learn about their favoured code and develop the necessary skills required to play the game.
This programme will be a great opportunity for teachers and coaches to further develop the ‘up and coming’ athletes in our school and hopefully enable our school teams to be a lot more competitive in the Inter-Intermediate Schools tournaments and sporting events coming up this year. We also hope to visit other sporting facilties in the community throughout the year to give our students exposure to the many codes we have to offer here in Wainuiomata.
Thank you to Jason Tangianau for coming down to run Ki o Rahi this Term and to Mr Hayes for putting the programme together. If you would like to get involved in our Wednesday Sports Afternoon programme or find out more about it please contact Isaac Hayes or Mereana Brown through the school.
